Give a sapling as the return gift
A thousand guests means a thousand return gifts, and everyone already knows how that ends. The steel tumblers go in a cupboard, the plastic goes in a drawer, and most of it is out of the house within a month. A sapling doesn't. It gets planted, it grows, and years later somebody still points at the tree and remembers whose wedding it came from. At a flat ₹16, it also costs less than almost anything else you could hand over.
